First-Line Therapies model

The First-Line Therapies model aims to improve access and processes of mental health services at the primary care level in collaboration with wellbeing services counties and university hospitals in Finland. The model is part of the national mental health strategy and supports the reform of health and social services. It also enables the implementation of the Therapy Guarantee in the wellbeing services counties.
The First-Line Therapies handbook
A comprehensive handbook on the First-Line Therapies model has also been published in English. The purpose of this handbook is to describe the key principles and services of the First-Line Therapies model. It explains the aims of the First-Line Therapies model, the principles and evidence on which it is based, the services it comprises of, and how wellbeing services counties and other service providers can make use of it to organise mental health services that are as effective and equitable as possible.
